Terms of Service
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Welcome to Yama. By downloading or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
Who Can Use Yama
Yama is intended for fitness instructors and students aged 13 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. Please notify us immediately at support@yama.fit if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your Content and Ownership
You retain full ownership of all sequences, cues, and content you create in Yama ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership of Your Content. By using the app, you grant us only a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content as needed to provide the service to you — including, where you use those features, sending it to the third-party services described in our Privacy Policy to transcribe or generate text.
Your Content is private to your account unless you choose to make it accessible to others. Each sequence and your profile has a visibility setting that you control. When you set a sequence or your profile to public, or share a sequence through a public link, you grant us and other users a limited license to view and access that content for as long as you keep it public. Setting it back to private, or deleting it, ends that access going forward, though copies others already saved or that remain in caches may persist. Making content public does not transfer ownership — Your Content remains yours.
You are responsible for Your Content, and you represent that you have the rights to it. You may not upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others or violates any applicable law.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense Yama or its content
- Attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the app
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Templates and Curated Content
All sequence templates and curated content provided by Yama have been legally obtained or created with proper authorization. This content is provided for personal, non-commercial use within the app only.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the platform.
You may permanently delete your account at any time directly in the app, under Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent, removes Your Content and profile, and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, you may also request deletion by contacting us at support@yama.fit.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Yama is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
Yama is a teaching aid only. It is not a substitute for professional medical or fitness advice. Always practice and teach within your own training and capabilities.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yama and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Sanskrit Pose Names and Nomenclature
Sanskrit pose names in Yama are drawn from traditional hatha yoga nomenclature, classical texts, and established reference works. When a pose has a recognized Sanskrit name, we use the accepted Romanized transliteration without diacritics and standardize spelling and spacing across the library.
Names from specific modern traditions, including Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, and the Bihar School of Yoga, follow the naming conventions used in those lineages. Numbered variations and preparatory forms are treated as distinct poses.
Some movements, including Pilates-based, aerial, chair-supported, prop-assisted, and contemporary poses, do not have traditional Sanskrit names. These are listed in English only. Sanskrit names are provided for identification and education, and other valid transliterations may exist.
